Jenson Button pleased with British Grand Prix qualifying

McLaren's Jenson Button admits that he is pleased to have qualified third for the British Grand Prix in front of his home fans.

Jenson Button has said that he is pleased to have put in his best qualifying performance of the season so far in front of his home fans at the British Grand Prix.

The McLaren driver posted the third-fastest time at Silverstone, behind championship leader Nico Rosberg and Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel.

The 2009 world champion said at a press conference after the qualifying hour: "It's only third but for us after the last 18 months, we had no chance of getting this result. It's nice to qualify so well in front of the home crowd."

Button has secured just one podium finish this season, finishing third in the Australian Grand Prix following Daniel Ricciardo's disqualification.
