Button excited by home support

McLaren driver Jenson Button has revealed that he is looking forward to receiving support from his home country ahead of this Sunday's British Grand Prix.

The Brit will be looking to make his first podium appearance at Silverstone, with his previous best performances on the circuit being fourth-placed finishes in both 2004 and 2010.

Button is also looking to get his season back on track after a number of disappointing races and believes that there is no better place for his rejuvenation then on home soil.

"Silverstone's a circuit I love and it's great to have the support there for us," Button said.

"There's a lot of union jacks, which you would expect at the British Grand Prix, but last year there were just rocket red [McLaren] caps everywhere which does mean a lot to us, does make a difference.

"It's also a circuit which should suit our car. It's quite a fast circuit, there's not so much low speed. We're very strong in the high-speed corners so hopefully we'll show that at Silverstone."

The British Grand Prix takes place this Sunday.
