Jenson Button says that reaching the last 10 in qualifying for the Bahrain Grand Prix was a bonus.

Jenson Button has said that he was surprised to make the top 10 in qualifying for the Bahrain Grand Prix.

The McLaren has struggled for pace so far this season, which was summed up by Sergio Perez's failure to reach Q3.

Button let out a joyous reaction upon reaching the final 10 and said that it was a "nice feeling" to get the most out of his car.

"I think when you feel that, as a team, you've got the best out of the car in qualifying then it's a nice feeling," Button told Sky Sports News.

"It's little achievements - that's what we need to work towards at this moment in time - and I felt it was good, getting into Q3. I didn't expect to get into Q3."

Nico Rosberg will start on pole for tomorrow's race.
