Force India "desperate" to beat McLaren in constructors' championship

Nico Hulkenburg says that Force India are looking to overhaul nearest rivals McLaren in the constructors' championship ahead of next weekend's Singapore GP.

Nico Hulkenberg has revealed that Force India are "desperate" to beat McLaren to fifth place in the constructors' championship.

The Silverstone team are sixth in the standings going into next weekend's Singapore Grand Prix, just a point behind McLaren, and Hulkenberg is hopeful that they can leapfrog their rivals.

He told GPUpdate.net: "There's no chance of getting back ahead of [Williams and Ferrari].

"McLaren is our main opponent now and the race is between us and them. Obviously we're desperate to finish fifth in the constructors', that's important to us and our target."

Hulkenberg is currently eighth in the drivers' rankings on 69 points.
