Nico Hulkenberg to drive for Porsche at Le Mans

Nico Hulkenburg agrees to race for Porsche at Le Mans in 2015.

Nico Hulkenberg will compete in two rounds of next year's World Endurance Championship for Porsche as well as driving in Formula One with Force India.

The German racer recently agreed to stay with Force India beyond the end of 2014 season, but team principal Vijay Mallya gave the ex-Sauber man permission to take part in an event at Spa before driving in the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours race.

Porsche have decided to run three cars instead of two to allow Hulkenberg to compete in 2015 and the 27-year-old is delighted to have the opportunity to race outside F1.

He is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "I am very pleased the 2015 Formula 1 calendar allows for it and I'm grateful to my Force India team's generosity to let me go for it.

"Now it's up to me to work hard to satisfy both commitments."

Hulkenberg finished ninth in the 2014 drivers' championship.
