Ferrari have confirmed that suspension failure caused Felipe Massa to crash during the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday.
The Brazilian was taken to hospital as a precaution after crashing into the barriers, causing the Formula 1 team to investigate the car.
A statement on Ferrari's official website said: "The findings validated the first impressions of the engineers, confirming that the accident was caused by an element of the front left suspension breaking."
Meanwhile, Massa is expected to be fit for next weekend's Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.
