Mattia Binotto has slammed as "completely wrong" claims he could become isolated at Ferrari.

Binotto took over as team boss for 2019, but former president Luca di Montezemolo told La Repubblica newspaper that bigger bosses John Elkann and Louis Camilleri are inexperienced.

"This year, Ferrari will fight until the last for the title, which was not the case for a long time," Montezemolo said.

"But while Binotto is a talented leader, he risks not finding support within the company. When Ferrari won, the boss of Ross Brawn was Jean Todt and I was above Todt with 30 years of experience in formula one," he added.

"Binotto is in another situation."

In China, Binotto responded to Montezemolo's words by saying he feels "full support" from the Ferrari chairman and CEO.

CEO Camilleri agrees, declaring Ferrari's championship target for 2019 on track despite not yet winning this season.

"The season is long, we have proven to have a fast and balanced car and we are committed to improving its reliability," he is quoted by Corriere della Sera.

"We have two great drivers and a great team principal who is not only a great leader but also has a deep knowledge of Ferrari and technology," Camilleri added.

"We are a united, serene, determined and talented team and we will give everything to reach our ambitions."
