Axel Witsel recovers from injury to feature in the Champions League for Zenit St Petersburg against seven-time winners AC Milan.

Axel Witsel has been passed fit to take his place in the Zenit St Petersburg starting lineup for this afternoon's Champions League encounter against Italian side AC Milan.

There had been doubts as to whether or not the Belgian international would shake off a muscular injury in time for the clash.

However, he has undergone a fitness test and will start just behind the striking partnership of Hulk and Alexander Kerzhakov.

Former Manchester City player Nigel de Jong has been handed a role in the AC Milan midfield, while Bojan will feature as a lone frontman.

Zenit: Malafeev; Anyukov, Criscito, Lombaerts, Hubocan; Shirokov, Fayzulin, Witsel, Bystrov; Kerzhakov, Hulk

AC Milan: Abbiati; Abate, Bonera, Zapata, Antonini; De Jong, Montolivo, Emanuelson, Boateng, El Shaarawy; Bojan
