Report: AS Monaco join Wolverhampton Wanderers in Pele chase

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Monaco have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Rio Ave midfielder Pele.

The 26-year-old played 38 times for the Portuguese club last season and scored seven goals en route to a fifth-place finish in the Primeira Liga.

Wolves, who boast several Portuguese players and coaches in their ranks, have been linked with a €10m (£8.8m) move for Pele, who recently switched international allegiance to Guinea-Bissau.

According to A Bola, however, the 2016-17 Ligue 1 champions are also monitoring the former Portugal Under-21 player and may consider making a move in the summer.

Pele began his career with Belenenses and has also turned out for Olhanense, Pacos Ferreira, Feirense and Arsenal Kyiv.
