Atletico 'desperate for Lemar to join Wolves'

Atletico Madrid are allegedly 'desperate' for Thomas Lemar to secure a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers during the January transfer window.

Having failed to contribute a goal or assist in 21 appearances in La Liga and the Champions League this season, Atletico wish to cash in on the France international.

While Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with the 24-year-old, La Razon claims that neither of the Premier League giants are planning a move in the coming weeks.

The report suggests that has resulted in Atletico asking Jorge Mendes to help their efforts in tempting Wolves into agreeing a deal for the playmaker.

However, despite being open to a loan agreement for the rest of the campaign, it is claimed that Atletico maintain that they want to recoup €70m (£60m) in the summer.

Realistically, those terms are unlikely to be accepted by Wolves, leaving Mendes to negotiate terms between the two parties.
