Doyle: 'Players hurting as much as fans'

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Kevin Doyle has insisted that his teammates are hurting as much as the fans while the club battles for Premier League survival.

Playing staff were forced to leave via an alternative exit following last weekend's home defeat to Blackburn Rovers as supporters staged angry protests outside Molineux.

"The players feel it just like the fans do and we don't just forget about a game after we've lost," said Doyle. "It's our job and our profession, our life really, and when it's not going well you can't just go home and forget about it.

"It is great as a footballer when things are going well and the opposite when they are not and it's up to us to put things right.

"We're just as frustrated as the fans are and all we can do is the right things as much as possible."

An unlikely victory against league leaders Manchester United later today (Sunday) will see Wolves move out of the relegation zone.
