Naldo: 'Kevin De Bruyne exit would be a blow'

Naldo admits that Wolfsburg will suffer a "huge a loss of quality" if Kevin De Bruyne leaves the club this summer.

Wolfsburg defender Naldo has said that Kevin De Bruyne should remain with the Bundesliga club this season.

The 24-year-old has been strongly linked with a move away from Germany, with Manchester City believed to be interested in signing him.

However, the Belgian's teammate Naldo has said that he should reject a transfer, as losing a player of his quality would be a major blow to the Wolves.

"The team has great confidence in him," Naldo told Bild. "This is also an important point for Kevin.

"He can do practically whatever he wants with us on the field. He has all the freedom. I do not know if he will get that if he goes anywhere else.

"Kevin makes the difference for us. We don't have a comparable player in the squad. If we were to lose him, it would be huge a loss of quality."

De Bruyne scored 10 goals and set up an additional 20 for his teammates in the Bundesliga last season.
