Lee Nicholls signs new Wigan Athletic deal

Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Lee Nicholls has signed a new deal with the club that will keep him at the DW Stadium until 2015.

The 20-year-old is currently on loan at Northampton Town, but is regarded as a future first-team player by Latics boss Roberto Martinez.

"Seeing Lee's progress from a younger age has been a joy and to have him stay here and continue his hard work is great news. Lee is a great goalkeeper and he has shown that at Northampton this season," Martinez told the club's official website.

Nicholls has been with Wigan since 2009.
