Matt Taylor happy at West Ham United

West Ham United midfielder Matt Taylor has insisted that he is happy to be back at the club for pre-season training.

It was reported on Tuesday that Newcastle United were keen on signing the 31-year-old.

"We're into the start of pre-season and it was good to starting touching the footballs again," Taylor told the club's official website. "I'm really happy to be back with the lads and we've got a good game coming up on Sunday (against Cork City) which we're all looking forward to."

Taylor joined West Ham from Bolton Wanderers in summer 2011.
