West Brom told to double Ridgewell bid

West Bromwich Albion have been told to double their bid for Birmingham City defender Liam Ridgewell.

The Baggies were believed to have made a £1m offer for the centre-back earlier this week.

The Blues now want to make their money back on the 27-year-old after buying him from rivals Aston Villa for £2m in 2007.

Ridgewell handed in a transfer request at St Andrews over the summer.
