Report: West Brom hold advanced talks with keeper Boaz Myhill over new contract

Myhill contract talks 'at advanced stage'

West Bromwich Albion have reportedly entered an "advanced stage" of discussions over a new contract for goalkeeper Boaz Myhill.

Former Wales international Myhill started his side's final nine games last season after Ben Foster suffered knee ligament damage, taking full advantage of the opportunity with clean sheets against Chelsea, Manchester United, Crystal Palace and Liverpool.

Albion triggered the option to extend the 32-year-old's contract by one year earlier this summer, but are now looking to offer a new deal altogether, according to the Birmingham Mail.

With Foster out until at least October, reports have suggested that Baggies manager Tony Pulis may also look to Crystal Palace's Wayne Hennessey for further back-up.
