Chris Brunt 'won't beg' for new West Bromwich Albion contract

Brunt 'won't beg' for deal

West Bromwich Albion captain Chris Brunt has insisted that he will not be "begging" the Baggies for a new contract.

The 27-year-old has been open about his desire to stay at The Hawthorns but has claimed that he will wait for the Premier League outfit to offer him a new deal as he enters the final 18 months of his current agreement.

"I still have two-and-a-half years with the option year," Brunt told The Mirror. "I have to do my job playing football and earning that. Otherwise it looks like I'm begging for a contract."

Brunt has been on the sidelines since last month after picking up a hamstring injury.
