Ben Foster: 'West Bromwich Albion lucky to escape relegation'

West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster admits that the team have been lucky to avoid relegation from the Premier League this season.

Ben Foster has admitted that West Bromwich Albion have been "fortunate" to avoid being relegated from the Premier League this season.

The Baggies are just three points clear of the relegation zone with one game still to play, but their goal difference would keep them in the league should Norwich City win their final fixture.

The goalkeeper told the club's website: "I can understand the lads breathing a big sigh of relief really after we won against West Ham and results went our way, but it's really disappointing and we still want to beat Stoke now.

"It's been a thoroughly disappointing season from everybody really. I think we are quite fortunate and we've done well to escape relegation, so I think it's a point of licking our wounds and making sure we are in the Premier League next season.

"We've seen a few videos of Stoke and we know what they're going to do. But we won't be targeting individuals. We've got to focus on what we've got to do."

West Brom face Stoke City in their final game of the season.
