West Bromwich Albion caretaker manager Keith Downing has insisted that he does not see himself as a contender for the vacant head coach role at The Hawthorns.
Steve Clarke was relieved of his duties last week with the club struggling in the Premier League table, but Downing still believes that the position will be seen as a "big job".
The 48-year-old told the Birmingham Mail: "This is a big job, it's a Premier League club. I've been support staff and I believe that is my role.
"We all have ambitions but ultimately here, my job is about supporting the manager. That's how I see it."
Molde boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is one of a number of names to be linked with a move to the West Midlands.
