Watford sign Algerian international Essaid Belkalem on loan from Granada

Watford have completed the season-long loan signing of Algerian international centre-back Essaid Belkalem from Granada.

The 24-year-old could become a Hornet permanently come the end of the season because of an agreement between the two clubs, both owned by the Pozzo family.

Belkalem has played 90 minutes in all three of Algeria's qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

He will wear the number 5 shirt at Vicarage Road.
