Giuseppe Sannino pleased with Watford defence

Giuseppe Sannino says that his immediate focus is on Watford's defence after his team restricted Queens Parks Rangers to a goalless draw at Vicarage Road this afternoon.

Watford boss Giuseppe Sannino has said that he is pleased with how his team are defending since he took charge at Vicarage Road.

The Italian oversaw a goalless draw at home to Queens Park Rangers this afternoon, meaning that he is now unbeaten in his first three Championship matches.

"It was a very good result against a very good team that we know was tipped to win the title," the 56-year-old told reporters. "Today, I knew it was difficult before the game and it was a good game against a good squad. I know that we have to improve - but we have time now to improve.

"My judgement is I have a good team, a good group but I can say that my group wants to improve - that's the impression I have. I saw an improvement organisation-wise. Today, we made another step forward. We showed good organisation.

"When I arrived I thought I had to start from the defence. I'm really convinced that if you win, it's because you defend well. If we can keep this solidity at the back we can be very dangerous up front in the future."

The Hornets are 13th in the table, five points off a spot in the playoffs.
