Oscar Garcia delighted with Troy Deeney remaining at Watford

Garcia delighted with Deeney stay

Watford manager Oscar Garcia believes that striker Troy Deeney can continue to be a valuable asset to the club after remaining at Vicarage Road.

Deeney, who has scored three goals in five appearances this season, was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League but after he signed a new deal at the Championship club, Garcia has admitted that he is delighted to keep hold of his side's star player.

The 41-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "I'm very pleased about that.

"He's the captain, he's an example of what the club means and he can help me a lot in the dressing room, on the pitch and off the pitch. I am very pleased to have him at the club."

Garcia replaced Giuseppe Sannino as the Hornets' head coach earlier this week.
