Shaun Reid: 'Warrington Town deserved win'

Warrington Town manager Shaun Reid insists that his side deserved to beat League Two team Exeter City in the first round of the FA Cup.

Shaun Reid has said that Warrington Town "deserve" to be in the second round of the FA Cup after beating League Two side Exeter City this evening.

The Northern Premier League Division One North side scored early on before clearing several chances for the visitors off the line to book their place in Monday's draw for round two.

The manager, who is the younger brother of former England international Peter Reid, told BBC Sport: "These boys deserve it. No-one will want to come here in the next round. Everyone was a hero. They died for me. We will go again. I hope these fans turn out against Stockport again on Tuesday night."

The eighth-tier side have never played at this stage of the tournament before.
