The son of former Wales manager Gary Speed has been called up to the Welsh Under-16s squad for a training camp.
Ed Speed, who delivered a team talk to the Welsh senior squad at his father's memorial match against Costa Rica last week, will join 27 other youngsters within the squad.
The 14-year-old was also praised by the Under-16s manager Osian Roberts following his selection.
Roberts said: "As everyone now knows Ed is a phenomenal kid and he's reminds me so much of Gary as a player.
"His decision-making and preparation is spot on. You can imagine the influence his father had on him. He's probably more professional than full-time players now.
"He's a centre-midfielder who reads the game very well and does the easy things - he makes the game look simple at times."
Speed is joined in the squad by Ellis Bellamy, the son of Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy.
