Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion are interested in securing the services of Ghana striker Majeed Waris, reports suggest.

Both sides are in the market for offensive reinforcements this summer on the back of midtable Premier League finishes last term.

According to The Express, the Valenciennes striker is attracting attention in England, and scouts from St James' Park and The Hawthorns will run the rule over their man in the coming weeks.

Scouts from both clubs supposedly watched Waris in action in Ghana's friendly with Holland last week.

Newcastle recently secured the services of young Spanish striker Ayoze Perez, with West Brom said to be monitoring Spartak Moscow forward Yura Movsisyan.
