Saint-Etienne held by Valenciennes

Saint-Etienne were left frustrated by a resilient Valenciennes side as they drew 0-0 in Northern France this evening.

Saint-Etienne went into the match looking to extend their lead over fourth-placed Lyon, but can now be leapfrogged if Lyon win their game at home to Toulouse on Sunday.

Vincent Aboubakar spurned a late chance for the home side in second-half stoppage time.

The result leaves Valenciennes on 37 points in 13th place.
