Report: Jonathan Viera out for season

Jonathan Viera is expected to miss the remainder of the season after suffering a serious thigh injury.

The Spaniard, who is currently on loan at Rayo Vallecano from Valencia, picked up the injury in training, with tests revealing that the winger had suffered a tear to his left thigh.

Initial reports have suggested that Viera will be out of action for at least one month, but it appears unlikely that he will return before the end of the season.

As it stands, Viera, who has scored five times for Rayo this season, will return to his parent club in the summer.

However, a number of teams are believed to be interested in the 24-year-old's services.
