Valencia midfielder Jonas has targeted winning a trophy with the club next season.

Los Che finished fifth in La Liga last season and were eliminated at the last-16 stage of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain.

"We have three important competitions to enjoy this year and we want to continue improving, so for me it is essential we win a trophy," Jonas told reporters.

"All of us have the same mentality, that we want to write our name into the club's history books. The only thing lacking is a title. Therefore, we'll fight to achieve one this season. We have the opportunity."

Jonas will join up with his teammates next week after being allowed an extended period away following the birth of his child.
