Monday morning's Premier League transfer talk news roundup:

Man United chief executive Ed Woodward's security 'stepped up for deadline day'

Manchester United reportedly have plans to increase security around Ed Woodward's house throughout deadline day.

At the beginning of the year, the chief executive's house was targeted by supporters frustrated with the club's activity in the transfer market.

Flares and smoke bombs were used ahead of United eventually finalising a big-money deal for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

According to The Mirror, stronger measures will be in place on Monday as United continue their efforts to sign new players.

While Edinson Cavani is likely to arrive on a free transfer, the Premier League giants are reportedly refusing to meet the asking prices of Alex Telles and Jadon Sancho.

As it stands, United have only brought in Donny van de Beek from Ajax.

Chelsea eye Arsenal target Thomas Partey as Declan Rice alternative?

Chelsea have reportedly identified Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey as a possible alternative to Declan Rice.

The Blues are understood to be willing to do one more deal in their big-spending summer and regard West Ham United's Rice as their top target.

However, the Hammers are demanding more than £80m for the England international, forcing Chelsea to consider other options.

The Guardian reports that Thomas is one of the names on their shortlist, despite heavy speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal.

The Gunners are keen to sign either Thomas or Houssem Aouar before Monday's deadline, but have so far been unable to agree a fee for either midfielder.

Thomas is available for £45m due to a release clause in his contract, making him a cheaper option for Chelsea than Rice.
