Late penalty gives Toulouse victory

A late penalty has given Toulouse a 2-1 win over 10-man Reims in Ligue 1 this evening.

Oscar Trejo had the first real chance of the game just 10 minutes into the first half, but his powerful strike from just outside the box was stopped by Kossi Agassa.

The home side had a strong spell midway through the half, with Gaetan Charbonnier and Nicolas de Preville both having chances, before Prince Oniangue saw his shot saved.

However, it was Toulouse who took the lead just before half time, as Trejo headed in to score his first goal for his new club.

Martin Braithwaite came close to doubling the visitors' lead early in the second half, but his right-footed strike was comfortably saved.

Toulouse continued to create the majority of the chances, but it was the hosts that claimed the second goal of the match, as Oniangue beat Ali Ahamada with a drilled effort from 20 yards out.

The visitors reclaimed the lead with less than five minutes left, after Clement Chantome was brought down in the box, resulting in a red card for Antoine Devaux, which allowed Braithwaite to score from the spot.

Braithwaite almost added a third for Toulouse moments later when Issiaga Sylla slotted the ball back into the box, but was unable to get the better of Agassa again.
