Half-Time Report: John Guidetti, Simon Tibbling goals put Sweden Under-21s ahead

Sweden in control against Denmark

Sweden Under-21s are half-way to the final of Euro 2015, as they lead Denmark Under-21s 2-0 at half time in the last four.

The Danes dominated the opening 15 minutes and thought they took the lead when Youssouf Poulsen powered the ball in from close-range, but the referee ruled that he used his hand to control the ball.

Sweden took advantage of their reprieve as Kiesse Thelin went down in the area under a challenge from Alexander Scholz. The referee awarded a penalty, and John Guidetti stroked it into the back of the net.

Things got worse for Denmark three minutes later as Guidetti's pass was not cut out by the sliding Nicolaj Thomsen, allowing Simon Tibbling to take a touch and coolly slip the ball pass the goalkeeper from 12 yards.

Denmark came close to pulling one back through Poulsen, who flicked a header inches past the post from Rasmus Falk's cross, but Sweden hung on keep their two-goal advantage at the interval.
