Vorm: 'Knee surgery was a success'

Swansea City goalkeeper Michel Vorm has revealed that his recent knee surgery was a success.

The Dutch shot-stopper has been sidelined for the Swans' last five matches following an operation on a long-standing meniscus tear.

The 30-year-old is expected to return for the Welsh side next month.

"The operation went to plan," Vorm told the club's official website. "There was a little tear in my meniscus, which caused a lot of problems, but a small operation of around 30 minutes sorted things out.

"I feel much better than before. I can do almost everything already. My knee has a little bit of fluid in it, which is normal at this stage, but I'm very comfortable with my recovery."

Swansea return to Premier League action on Saturday when they face Manchester United at Old Trafford.
