Michael Laudrup backs England

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup believes that England have the ability to win a major championship.

Laudrup insists that the large proportion of foreign players in the Premier League should not have a negative impact on the national side.

"Spain were no different to England until recent years," Laudrup told The Sun.

"They were losing penalty shootouts and to last-minute goals, now they've won three in a row.

"There were a lot of foreign players in Spain and everyone blamed them - now no one is mentioning that, yet there are still as many of them in La Liga."

Laudrup received 104 international caps for Denmark.
