Alan Curtis 'to take caretaker charge of Swansea City'

Swansea City reportedly have no intention of naming a new manager prior to their weekend Premier League clash against Manchester City.

It is claimed by Sky Sports News that the Swans will instead by managed by Alan Curtis, who is to return to the club to take caretaker charge at the Etihad.

The Welsh outfit are on the lookout for a new permanent boss after parting company with Garry Monk on Wednesday afternoon following a disappointing run of form in the Premier League.

Avram Grant has emerged as a surprise leading candidate to take over at the Liberty Stadium, but no official appointment is expected to be made prior to the weekend.

One victory in their last 11 games has left Swansea just one point above the relegation zone.
