Report: Sunderland close to Jordon Mutch deal

Sunderland are close to sealing a deal to sign Cardiff City midfielder Jordon Mutch, according to a report.

The 22-year-old impressed for the Bluebirds last season despite their relegation to the Championship as he scored seven goals.

The Black Cats have agreed a £1.5m fee with Cardiff to keep the midfielder in the Premier League and bolster their squad for next season following the departures of Craig Gardner and Ki Sung-Yeung, reports the Daily Mail.

Gus Poyet's side have already signed Billy Jones and Jordi Gomez this summer.
