Gus Poyet has revealed that Danny Graham can expect to be given more chances in the Sunderland side after impressing him on his return to the club.
It appeared that Graham was not a part of Poyet's plans earlier in the season, and he had been linked with another move away from the Stadium of Light after his loan spell with Wolverhampton Wanderers ended in December.
However, his performances in cameos off the bench have moved him back up the pecking order, and he is pushing for a recall to the starting lineup following an injury to Connor Wickham.
"He has a big chance now," Poyet told reporters ahead of Saturday's trip to Graham's former club Swansea City.
"His loan to Wolves was spectacular for us. He went there and came back totally different.
"He was very sharp and match fit and properly ready to play. Danny has put himself in contention and, as a substitute, he has done perfect for us."
Graham has failed to score in 16 Premier League appearances for the Black Cats.
