Report: Stoke City chase Barcelona winger Ibrahim Afellay on a free transfer

Stoke City are in talks to sign Barcelona winger Ibrahim Afellay, according to reports.

The Dutchman has struggled to establish himself at the Camp Nou since he moved there from PSV Eindhoven in 2011, playing just 21 times in four seasons.

The 29-year-old will be available on a free transfer when his contract runs out this summer, and The Mail reports that the Potters are keen on adding him to their ranks.

Afellay has spent this season on loan at Olympiacos.
