Asmir Begovic: 'I'm staying at Stoke City'

Begovic: 'I'm going nowhere'

Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has insisted that he will remain a Potters player at the end of today's transfer window.

The shot-stopper has been linked to Premier League heavyweights Manchester City and Manchester United but the 25-year-old has claimed that the 'time has passed' for a transfer to go through.

"As far as I know, [I'm staying]," Begovic told Sky Sports News. "I'm looking forward to staying and looking forward to the game at the weekend. I don't see anything happening now, that time's passed."

There were rumours that the Yugoslavian would seek a move away from the Britannia Stadium following reports that Stoke are eager to bring in Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland.
