Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez hands a first Premier League start to Roger Espinoza for tonight's trip to Stoke City.

Roger Espinoza will make his first Premier League start for Wigan Athletic this evening as they travel to play Stoke City.

There is no place in defence for Ronnie Stam, as Roman Golobart makes his debut for the Latics. Jordi Gomez will take his place alongside the Dutchman on the bench.

Tony Pulis recalls Asmir Begovic between the sticks after resting him for the FA Cup defeat to Manchester City.

In fact, the Welshman had made five changes in total, most notably Peter Crouch coming into the side for Kenwyne Jones.

Stoke: Begovic; Cameron, Shawcross, Huth; Whitehead, Whelan, Nzonzi, Adam, Etherington; Walters, Crouch

Wigan: Al Habsi; Boyce, Golobart, Caldwell, Figueroa; Beausejour, McCarthy, McArthur, Espinoza; Maloney; Di Santo
