Tony Pulis fined £10,000 by FA

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has been fined £10,000 by the Football Association for comments that he made following his side's exit from the Carling Cup last month.

Pulis's side lost to Liverpool 2-1 at the Britannia Stadium, a result which the manager partially blamed on referee Lee Probert.

The 56-year-old hinted that some of Probert's decisions were biased towards visiting Liverpool.

The FA took the decision to charge Pulis in the wake of those comments.

Reflecting on today's fine and warning about his future conduct, Pulis told the club's official website: "I am very disappointed with the outcome. I have requested written reasons and am considering an appeal."

Pulis took over Stoke in 2006 following a one-year spell with Plymouth Argyle.
