Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has admitted that it will take time for the Potters to adapt to his new style of football.

The Welshman, who replaced Tony Pulis at the Britannia Stadium in May, is reported to be keen on changing Stoke's infamous style of football this season.

"I've got good players, and I wouldn't ask them to do anything I don't feel they are capable of doing," Hughes told BBC Sport.

"It will take time - on occasions we'll make mistakes and you have to accept that, but if we want to play in a certain way that's what we have to do."

Stoke have signed Erik Pieters and Marc Muniesa so far this summer.
