Mark Hughes: 'Stoke City never lost the control'

Mark Hughes claims that Stoke City were always in control on the way to a 1-0 victory over Swansea City.

Mark Hughes has claimed that Stoke City were always in control as they battled to a 1-0 victory over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

Bojan Krkic's early penalty proved to be the winner as the Potters relied on an impressive defensive display to claim a third successive Premier League victory and move up to 11th in the table.

"I was pleased with the amount of control we had of the game. It's important as the away team to take the sting out of the game," Hughes told Sky Sports News after watching his side continue their recent resurgence.

"Maybe if we'd taken more care with the final pass we might have capitalised on more opportunities. They never really created anything of note. We've restricted them and created opportunities.

"It was a good professional away performance. Sometimes you think you've scored too early. But we had control of the game. They never got any momentum in the game which was important. We're on a decent run of form."

Stoke will entertain Watford at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.
