Peter Crouch has promised to continue scoring goals for new club Stoke City after netting his first goal against Manchester United on Saturday.
The former Spurs striker scored Stoke’s only goal in the 1-1 draw, but incurred the wrath of United boss Alex Ferguson, who claimed that Crouch “fouls all the time”.
Despite the criticism, Crouch has said that fans can expect many more goals during the coming season.
"To score my first goal for the club against Manchester United was special, and I’m sure it will be the first of many," Crouch commented.
"I thought it was a top-class performance and we could have won it in the end. I felt I could have got the winner, but you can’t be too greedy. Rio Ferdinand and Phil Jones are always difficult to play against, but we mixed it up well."
Crouch moved to Stoke from Tottenham last month for a reported fee of £10m.
