Djemba-Djemba targets World Cup place

St Mirren's new signing Eric Djemba-Djemba has revealed that he hopes to play his way into the World Cup reckoning for Cameroon if he impresses for his new club over the next few months.

Djemba-Djemba, once of Manchester United, said that he is confident that he can get himself back on the radar of national team coach Volker Finke.

"I hope the Cameroon manager can see me playing here and I can get in the squad," BBC Sport quotes him as saying. "You never know, football is football. That's why I'm here."

The 32-year-old most recently played for Partizan before moving to Scotland.
