Benoit Assou-Ekotto out of Cameroon squad

Benoit Assou-Ekotto has withdrawn from the Cameroon squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifier against Togo due to personal reasons.

The 28-year-old Tottenham Hotspur defender has not played for his country for nearly two years.

Assou-Ekotto has been capped 11 times by the Indomitable Lions since making his debut in 2009.

Cameroon are currently in third place in Group B, one point behind leaders Libya.
