Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly added Chelsea winger Mykhaylo Mudryk to their shortlist of potential summer signings.
Roberto De Zerbi and his squad are currently reeling from Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Brentford in their first Premier League fixture of 2026-27.
Although the Italian has conceded that some of his Spurs player did not appear to be in ideal physical condition for the game at the Gtech Community Stadium, there are high hopes for the North Londoners this season.
Despite Manchester City duo Savinho and Omar Marmoush both closing in on a transfer to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Spurs remain heavily linked with Cody Gakpo.
However, as per transfer expert Nicolo Schira, consideration could be given for a move for Mudryk.
De Zerbi considering Mudryk reunion at Spurs?
The report claims that Spurs are planning on making a fresh approach for Gakpo, presumably over the coming days.
Gakpo is said to have already agreed terms over a switch to Spurs if a fee can be agreed with Liverpool.
Nevertheless, De Zerbi and Spurs are said to view Mudryk as their 'Plan B' as they bid to ensure that another wide player joins the club.
De Zerbi is no stranger to working with Mudryk, recently describing the Ukrainian star as "his son" after their time at Shakhtar Donetsk.
Mudryk is believed to be available on loan as Chelsea look to find regular game time for a player who has not played a competitive fixture since November 28, 2024.
Mudryk Spurs move makes sense for all parties
There will be sections of Chelsea's fanbase who will not want to see one of their most expensive ever signings move to a London rival.
At the same time, Chelsea need to do what is best by themselves and Mudryk in this situation, and the 25-year-old reuniting with De Zerbi appears to be the logical step.
Aware of what Spurs are prepared to pay for Gakpo, Chelsea would naturally want to receive a substantial loan fee.
Nevertheless, if De Zerbi is an admirer of Mudryk and plans to use him regularly, ensuring that such a deal goes through should be viewed as a priority.
