Saturday morning's Tottenham Hotspur transfer talk news roundup:
Tottenham Hotspur 'see £45m Nicolo Zaniolo bid rejected by Roma'
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly failed with a €50m (£45m) offer for Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo.
The 21-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2019-20 campaign for his Serie A club, contributing eight goals and three assists in 33 appearances in all competitions.
Zaniolo has a contract in Rome until June 2024, but the speculation surrounding his future has gathered pace over the last few weeks, and a recent report claimed that Spurs were 'tracking' the Italy international.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Jose Mourinho's side recently approached Roma with an offer of €50m (£45m) for the versatile attacker.
However, Roma are said to have swiftly rejected the bid as they are determined to keep hold of the Italian during this summer's transfer window.
Zaniolo has scored 14 times and registered six times in 69 appearances for I Giallorossi in all competitions.
Tottenham Hotspur given chance to sign Atletico Madrid's Diego Costa?
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been provided with the opportunity to sign Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa.
Despite talk of a restricted transfer budget, Jose Mourinho has already signed Joe Hart and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, while Matt Doherty is allegedly on the brink of joining from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
However, at a time when the Portuguese still requires experienced backup for Harry Kane, it appears that he has been given a chance to reunite himself with one of his former players.
According to the Daily Star, Spurs have been contacted over whether they hold an interest in Costa, who has been made available by Atletico.
While the Spain international is only regarded as backup at Wanda Metropolitano, the 31-year-old enjoyed one of the best spells of his career while working with Mourinho at Chelsea.
The report claims that Costa is open to a return to the Premier League, having previously departed in a £57m deal in September 2017.
