Danny Rose says that the Andre Villas-boas is a "great appointment" for Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur full-back Danny Rose has hailed the appointment of Andre Villas-Boas to the White Hart Lane hotseat.

The 22-year-old, who is currently with the Team GB squad ahead of the Olympics, revealed that he has yet to speak with the Portuguese coach, but said that everyone at the club is fully behind the new manager.

"It is a great appointment," talkSPORT quotes Rose as saying. "It was pretty bold move by the club to sack Harry Redknapp but the chairman's intentions are to take the club forward and everyone is fully behind him and Villas-Boas as well.

"I am pretty unfortunate not to have met him yet because I am away here, but I am looking forward to going back and meeting him and getting to work with him."

Rose made 11 appearances under Harry Redknapp last season.
