Neville's presence 'excites' Walker

Full-back Kyle Walker believes that he will improve as a player by working with England coach Gary Neville.

Former Manchester United defender Neville made 85 appearances for the Three Lions before he called time on his international career back in 2007.

Twenty-two-year-old Walker, who is expected to start for England against San Marino on Friday night, admitted to BBC Sport today that he can only benefit from having someone of Neville's experience to work with.

"I'm young, I want to improve and become the best I can be," said the Tottenham Hotspur defender. "Having Gary Neville here, a player I look up to and watch, is great.

"He gives me tips and coaches me through. I'm excited to be working with him and playing with the players we are playing with."

Walker has made three appearances for the England senior side.
