Andre Villas-Boas wants quick Emmanuel Adebayor return

Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas says that the club are trying to get Emmanuel Adebayor back in the UK in time for their Newcastle match.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that the club are trying to get striker Emmanuel Adebayor back to White Hart Lane in time for this weekend's fixture.

The 28-year-old, who is expected to replace Jermain Defoe against Newcastle United this Sunday due to the forward's ankle ligament damage, has yet to touch down in the UK following Togo's exit from the Africa Cup of Nations.

"We are trying to establish the best flight connections for him," Andre Villas-Boas said in a press conference. "He will be selected for sure."

Spurs are currently placed in fourth spot in the Premier League table.
